Crystal Palace defender speaks on Wilfried Zaha and Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Crystal Palace defender Scott Dann believes the club cannot ward off the speculation regarding the futures of Wilfried Zaha and Aaron Wan-Bissaka amid their consistent performances in the club’s shirt. The Eagles recently secured a comfortable 2-0 triumph over Huddersfield and the duo were essential to the result with solid displays.

Speaking after the game, Dann highlighted the importance of keeping hold of Zaha and Wan-Bissaka at the club, given they have been crucial to their progress through the campaign. However, he added that the south London side cannot quell the speculation regarding their futures and there could come a time where they may have to part ways with the pairing.

“I mean for a club like us it is always important [to keep your best players]. But at the same time when you play at the level they [Zaha and Wan-Bissaka] play at week in, week out, you can’t help those conversations or rumours coming about. They are both top, top players. They are performing at a very high level so it is never going to go away. Whether in the future they stay or move on, who knows,” he told via BBC Sport.

Zaha has enjoyed another solid season with the Capital-based outfit and his tally of eight goals and three assists in the Premier League has put the club on the cusp of beating the Premier League drop. Elsewhere, Wan-Bissaka has grown from strength-to-strength since making his debut for the team 13 months ago and that has certainly caught the eye of elite Premier League clubs.

Both players could be the subject of transfer interest during the summer but the Eagles are only expected to sanction their sales at the right price. Roy Hodgson’s team have valued Zaha at around £70m while they are expected to command at least £40m for Wan-Bissaka.
