Adebayor suggests Aubameyang or Lacazette could leave Arsenal next season

Former Arsenal star Emmanuel Adebayor has aimed a dig at the north London outfit by suggesting that there are no assurances regarding the long-term futures of their leading players. The Togo international has previously indicated that he was pushed through the exit door during his time at Arsenal and he has predicted the same to happen with one of Aubameyang or Lacazette ahead of next season.

Speaking to The Mail, Adebayor said that he did not enjoy the best of times with the Capital outfit where there was the regular occurrence of players making the switch to the likes of Barcelona, he told: “It reached a time where you would go on holiday and be checking the Daily Mail website to see who is close to leaving for Barcelona or Milan.”

He added that the same has continued to remain the case with the north London giants to date and he would not be surprised, should Aubameyang or Lacazette head through the exit door when the transfer window reopens, he quipped: “Dropping one by one until Arsenal are what they are today. I would not be surprised if Lacazette or Aubameyang leave in the summer. Nothing surprises me anymore with that club.”

The Gunners are already set to lose the services of Aaron Ramsey during the summer with the Welshman due to join Juventus on a free transfer agreement. However, that may not necessarily hamper the futures of Lacazette and Aubameyang, considering the club are much stable on the financial front than between 2006 and 2011, where they had to overcome debts related to the construction of the Emirates Stadium.

Adebayor is currently plying his trade with Istanbul Basaksehir. The club are currently at the top of the league table with four games to play, but they face the pressure from holders Galatasaray and Besiktas, who are two and three points behind them respectively.
