ADEBAYOR SENDS MESSAGE TO TOTTENHAM 26-YEAR-OLD WITH ONE START

Emmanuel Adebayor has told Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma ‘Wishing you all the best in your career’, as the former striker posted on his Instagram story. On Wednesday night, Spurs secured a 2-0 win over French giants Marseille on their opening night of the new Champions League season. Adebayor was present for that game and he was seen meeting the players before the game, including a number of the current stars, such as Bissouma and Harry Kane. At 38, Adebayor is still going strong and playing the game for AC Semass, in his homeland of Togo, seven years after the ex-Arsenal man left Spurs.

Either way, he was able to witness Antonio Conte’s side continue their unbeaten start to the new season, as they currently sit third in the Premier League table. They were due to play Manchester City yesterday, but with football suspended because of the Queen’s death, it might be a case of Spurs next playing against Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Following Bissouma’s summer transfer from Brighton, he is yet to secure back-to-back starts under Conte, but that just proves the level of quality the Italian can now play with. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur are the two keeping him out of the side, as he will be looking to build on that one and only start in the coming weeks. The games are coming thick and fast, with Spurs having to play every midweek up until the 2022 World Cup in November, including a trip to their north London rivals.
