ADEBAYOR: REAL MADRID CAREER IN SUMMARY

Ex-AS Monaco and Arsenal attacker Emmanuel Adebayorspent just 18 months at Manchester City before he was loaned out to Real Madrid thanks in part to the influence of manager Jose Mourinho. He signed a six-month loan contract at Real Madrid during the 2011 winter transfer window. His move to Real Madrid as a Manchester City loanee was made official on January 25, 2011. He joined Real Madrid in the middle of the season and he was at the club until the end ofthe same season.

Emmanuel Adebayor scored his first Real Madrid goal during the second leg of the Copa Del Rey semifinal clash with Sevilla. The Togolese star was on target for the first goal of the game in the colours of the home team. Real Madrid won 2-0 for an aggregate scoreline of 3-0. In the following weekend, Emmanuel Adebayor scored his first Spanish La Liga goal for hosts Real Madrid at the expense of Real Sociedad. He was responsible for the final Real Madrid goal in a 4-1 win. His goal arrived three minutes from time.

On March 6, 2011, Adebayor scored the opener on 24 minutes off a Mesut Ozil pass on the way to a 3-1 league win over Racing Santander for his Real Madrid side. The attacker was heavily criticised for missing a lot of good chances during the league game against Sporting Gijon which ended in a 1-0 defeat for Real Madrid.

Emmanuel Adebayor won his only trophy at Real Madrid in the Copa Del Rey thanks to the win over arch rivals Barcelona in the final played on April 20, 2011. The Togolese star rounded off his Real Madrid loan spell in style as he scored three goals during the 8-0 victory over Almeria. It was the last league game of the season for his team.
