Senegalese striker MbayeDiagne has snubbed Kampiasa’s contract offer to complete a move to Turkish league outfit Galatasaray, following his long term admiration for the club.
The Senegal international has earned himself the move, following his scintillating form for Kampiasa in the Turkish league this season and he can be proud of his latest achievement.
The 27 year old striker currently leads the goal scoring charts in the Turkish top flight and has moved on to newer pastures. The deal will keep him at the Turkish club until 2023.
Diagne will already be looking to hit the ground running as quickly as possible at his new club, and maybe lead them to their 22nd Turkish league success.
A player who was playing his football at Chinese Super League outfit Tianjin Teda just two years ago, now plays for a big club like Galatasaray. Isn’t that a glorious fairytale? It sure is.
I can bet MbayeDiagne is still struggling to believe he is now playing for Galatasaray. How huge his rise has been since 2017, it must be said!
Throughout his time at Kampiasa, he was in blistering form, registering a phenomenal 32 goals in just 34 league games. Such was is prolificacy at the RecepTayyipErdogan Stadium.
Galatasaray are currently second on the Turkish league table trailing table toppers Istanbul Basaksehir by six points. They will be hoping to overcome the six-point deficit over the coming months as the title race gets even hotter.
