Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor has revealed that he is looking at the possibility of getting revenge on Chelsea for the number of defeats he has suffered at the hands of the London club.
Tottenham will be facing Chelsea in the FA Cup final at the new Wembley, which certainly has not been a good hunting ground for the African international. Chelsea’s Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba, however, enjoys playing at the new Wembley. Emmanuel Adebayor has been defeated at the new Wembley on several occasions with his old club Arsenal, and the Tottenham striker has said that he is looking forward to getting revenge on Chelsea.
Adebayor is yet to win a major competition in England after having spent time with some of the top clubs like Arsenal, and Manchester City. Yet, the Togo international is not fazed by the challenge surrounding him in the form of Chelsea, who appear rejuvenated under new manager Roberto di Matteo. Chelsea will be having one eye on the Champions League semi-final against Barcelona on Wednesday night.
So far, Adebayor has just won trophy to his credit – the 2011 Copa del Rey with Real Madrid. Tottenham are looking highly unlikely to win the match, as they come into the FA Cup semi-final on the back of a poor run of form.
“My only appearance at Wembley so far was that 2-1 loss so my memories are not good. But this is a new game and we want to win. Football is all about winning medals and they are the moments in life that you can look back on with pride. I want to win the FA Cup so I can show my medal to my kids and say “look what daddy won!”. I didn’t win anything with Arsenal, I didn’t win anything with Manchester City, so I want to win the FA Cup with Tottenham,’ Adebayor said.
